Government Polytechnic, Hisar is situated  at a distance of about 3 KMs from main bus stand of the city on the Delhi bye pass , Near G.J.U, Hisar. This institute started functioning during the session 1994-95. At present, the institution is offering  following diploma level courses.

            25 seats are reserved of PCP students ( Physically Challenged person) run by Govt. of India to bring the PCP in the main stream .  The PCP students admitted in these  courses are provided with facilities like free accommodation, free mess, stipend, books and other reading material etc.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES CELL (PWD)

 

Name of Scheme :-                Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Integrating Persons with

Disabilities in the Main Stream of Technical and Vocational Education.

Year of Starting of the Scheme  : July , 2001

Objectives of the scheme:   The sole purpose of the scheme is to impart appropriate formal and non-formal Technical and Vocational  Education to the Persons With Disabilities and to provide them equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation in the building of nation.

 

Proposed Training Programmes

 

            Under this Scheme, there are two types of training programmes for Persons for Disabilities.

 

1.                  Formal Training Program

2.                  Non-formal Training Program

 

1.                  Formal Training Program :- Under formal training programmes, 25 PWD’s are admitted per year in three years Engg. diploma courses in the trades of Mech. Engg., Electronics & Comm.  Engg., Textile Technology , Textile Design , Textile Processing , Computer Engg. and  Instrumentation & Control Engg. The following facilities are given to the PWD’s going under this program.

 

 

1.Free lodging & Boarding

2.Free books and uniform

3.Exemption from tuition fee

4.Scholarship @ Rs. 250/- per month each student.

 

2.Non-formal Training Program: Under the non-formal training program, 100 PWDs (Persons with Disabilities) are trained per year in different need base courses such as   Cutting & Tailoring , Motor-Winding, Radio & T.V.Repair, Refrigeration & A.C. Repair ,Beautician, Chalk & Candle and Computer Applications for the duration of Three to Six months. The following facilities are also provided to nor-formal trainees.

 

 

1.                  Free training

2.                  Scholarship @ Rs. 250/- per month

3.                  Travelling allowance

4.                  Mid-day meal @ Rs. 10 /- per day

5.                  Tool –Kit after the completion of training .

For the year 2005-06 ,55 Trainees are undergoing the training

 

            The whole expenditure on the training ( Formal & Non- formal ) is made from the yearly grant received from the Govt. of India.

 

TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL

 

            The overall development of the students of this institute is done by arranging short duration and long duration Industrial/ Project/ Technical concern visits and arranging Guest/ Extension lectures. To strengthen this cell the relations with the blue chip companies of the country are developed and they are invited to visit our institution and their minor problems are solved  by the faculty of engineering of this institute free of costs. Short term training (four week to Six week) are arranged in 15-20 different industries with the co-ordination of Board of Apprenticeship Training ( Northern Region).

 

The one year Apprenticeship Training is also imparted at this institute. This year Jindal Stainless Ltd. Hisar, Nahar Industrial  Enterprises Lalru, Jindal Buttons Ltd.Hisar, Orient Syntex Ltd. Bhiwadi , Baxter Ltd. Manaser, M/s Telmos Automobiles Hisar , have already conducted campus /off campus interview Daltons Cables Ltd. Faridabad , Sandhab Auto Components  Ltd. Manesar etc.  are planning to visit our institute and conduct campus interview .The faculty/staff is sent for training at different places under the Faculty Development Programme.

 

Community Polytechnic Scheme

 

            Govt. Polytechnic, Hisar is serving as a Training Centre under Community Polytechnic Scheme of Deptt. of Higher education MHRD, Govt of India .Under this scheme besides the running of non- formal training courses of three to six months duration for rural youth for gainful employment, Technology is also transferred through extension centres and Technical services are provided to the rural community. In the training programmes , the trainees are imparted training in the  fields of IT, Domestic Wiring & Motor Winding , Farm Machinery Repair & Maintenance, Welding, Plumbing, Cutting & Tailoring, Garments making etc.
