(CHC):-It
covers approximately 1.5 lacs population. Indoor facility of 30 beds at each
CHC. Preventive and Curative facilities are provided.
Primary Health Centers
(PHC):-
It covers approximately 30 thousand populations. Two medical officers are
posted here. Indoor facility of 10 beds at each PHC. Both Preventive and
Curative facilities are provided.
Sub Centres:- Total 206 in numbers.
198 situated in rural areas at village level. Two multipurpose Health workers
One Male & One Female are posted at Sub Centre. They provide mainly
preventive health services like immunization and also provide family welfare
service with treatment of minor ailments. Each Sub Centre covers approximately
5000 populations.

Health Activities being done and their
achievement
Immunization and Mother &
Child Health Services are being given in all institutions including Sub Centre
in the villages. This includes immunization against six childhood diseases and
to pregnant mothers against tetanus. Our achievement is about 90% except TT
Mothers. Institutional deliveries are being conducted in all PHC’s, CHC and GH free of cost. For the child and mother
health care specials camps under RCH Programme are held in remote villages.
Sixteen of such camp are to be held up to Oct.2005. Various maternity and child
benefits schemes are being implemented as under:-

under which various monetary
benefits are given for the mother and the child specially the girl child to
improve the importance of girls in the society to correct the sex ratio.
PNDT: - There
are 64 ultra sound clinics. We inspect these clinics regularly to find any
irregularity and take action against the defaulters. We are educating the public about the dangers
of unequal sex ratio by seminars, cinema slides, pamphlets and advertisement in
paper. According to birth registration year 2004 Male & Female sex ration
761 female child to 1000 Male Child.
Malaria: - We have been able to control spread of
malaria in the district up to now in seven months only 70 cases have been
detected out of which 5 cases are PF.
Drug Distribution Centers:- There are 9022 centers DDC’s in the rural area
in the district where free medicine for malaria is given.
Testing Centers:- There are 39 centers where blood sides are examined for detection of
malaria.
Fogging: - Twenty high risk villages and city of
Anti larval Measures:- In 35 villages and the city of
IEC Activities:- IEC Activities through group meetings-pamphlets, wall painting and
calendars is being done.
Dengue: - No dengue case has been reported this year.
Prevention of Food Adulteration: - We have taken the maximum number of food samples (81 up to June.05) in
the state.
Prevention of water borne diseases: - Situation regarding water borne diseases is satisfactory. There has been
one out break of jaundice in Uklana due to leakage of sewerage pipe line which
was controlled efficiently by the health department. We hold regular meetings
weekly with public health authorities and informed them about any water supply
pipe leakages and water samples tested for chlorine by health department. This
has resulted in improving the quality of drinking water.
All health workers have been supplied with water chlorine tested kits,
chlorine tablets and bleaching powders. All the medicines required for treating
water borne disease have been supplied up to health centre level. Regularly
water samples are taken for examination in the laboratory to find the quality
of drinking water. 112 samples have been collected so far.
AIDS:- National AIDS Control Programme
implemented at District level by District AIDS Control Society. District Health
Officer is the Nodal Officer.

2. VCTC (Voluntary Counseling and Testing
Centre):- Working since April 2002 at GH Hisar.
Till now 2116 cases have been tested out of which 179 found positive for HIV
infection. Pre and post testing counseling is also done. AIDS test is done at
cost of Rs.10/-.
3. Training:- All Health workers, aganwari workers have been
trained and all Panchyats have been sensitized.
4. Blood Safety: - All blood units collected are tested for HIV infection.
5. STD Clinics: - STD Clinic is
run in GH Hisar to detect sexually transmitted diseases.
Revised National Tuberculosis Control
Programme (RNTCP):- This programme
has been launched w.e.f. 01-01-2004 in Hisar by WHO
through District TB Society, Hisar. In this TB patients are given treatment
free of cost under DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short Course Chemotherapy).
The Hisar has three tuberculosis units (TU’s) and
Fourteen Microscopy Centers for sputum examination. Our achievement is very
high in all components of the programme.
Sputum Examination ratio is 120% against the target. No. of patient
diagnosed is 117.5 percent.
All the patients of the TB
are categorized under three categories. Cat.1, Cat.2 and Cat.3 on the basis of
sputum examination, history of the disease and X-ray examination.
Leprosy: - District Nuclei has been setup in the district in which following are
members:-
Confirmation of the leprosy cases is being in the District TB Center
Hisar. All leprosy patients are given treatment free of cost. There are 20
cases in the district which are 0.001 per ten thousands of population which is
in the elimination stage of the diseases. There are 2 leper Colonies in Hansi
where about 45 treated patients are living. Supportive treatment is given free
of cost to them. Out of 20 cases 17 cases are migrated and 3 cases are
indigenous.
School Health Programme: - Health facility is given to the Govt. Primary School Children. There are
total 493 Govt. Primary Schools in Hisar District and total strength of
students is 116527.
Under this programme following facilities are
being provided:-
National Programme for Control of
Blindness (NPCB):- Following facilities is being provided in
this programme:-
1.
Free of cost cataract surgery (by Intra
Ocular Lens Implantation) is being done at GH Hisar and GH Hansi routinely as
well as organizing eye camp with the help active participation of NGO/
Voluntary Organization.
2.
After cataract surgery if the patient
requires spectacles, it is also being providing free of cost.
3.
Screening of Fifty plus population is
done at village level and blind registration is being done at village level.
4.
IEC activities regarding general eye
care, diseases and eye donation etc. is being done through all available media.
5.
School Eye Screening under this programme the poor school children are provided spectacles
free of cost after doing their refraction.
